Short explainer video coming soon.

1

Choose what type of work you need

Pick the option that matches how long you need someone for:

⚡ Urgent / Needed now

You need someone within a few hours or later the same day.

Example: a member of staff called in sick and you need cover tonight.

Quick task

A single one-off job, usually finished in one visit.

Example: gardening, a house move, a delivery or clearing a space.

Temporary work

Several shifts, days or weeks with a defined end date.

Example: extra hands for a two-week busy period.

Part-time position

An ongoing job with fewer hours or days each week, from day one.

Example: three evenings a week in a kitchen.

Full-time position

An ongoing full-time job, from day one.

Example: a permanent full-time driver.

2

Create the job or task

You will be asked for:

  • a short job or task title
  • a description of what needs doing
  • the location (only the approximate area is shown publicly)
  • the date and start time
  • how long you expect it to take
  • how many people you need
  • the skills required
  • any qualifications or certificates, where relevant

The clearer the description, the better the applicants.

3

Set the pay

You choose the pay: either a total amount for the job, or an hourly rate. You can enter it yourself — ReadyHands never sets it for you.

Before you confirm anything, you always see the full breakdown:

Worker receives£X
ReadyHands fee£X
Total you pay£X

Fees are never hidden until the end.

4

ReadyHands fees

ReadyHands charges a service fee on top of the pay you offer the worker. You always see the full breakdown before you confirm.

Service fee on quick work and shifts: TBC — to be confirmed.

Recruitment fee for temporary, part-time and full-time positions: TBC — to be confirmed.

Optional extras (for example priority matching): TBC — to be confirmed.

5

Publish the work

Once you publish, your job goes live in the Find work feed straight away and suitable people nearby are notified.

Your exact address stays private until you accept someone.

6

Workers apply

Nearby workers with matching skills see your job and can apply in seconds. Applications arrive in real time with the time they can arrive and a short message.

7

Review applicants

For each applicant you can see the information relevant to your job:

  • their profile and the skills they have added
  • whether their identity is verified
  • ratings and reviews from previous work
  • qualifications or certificates, where relevant
8

Accept a worker

When you choose someone, the job is confirmed for both of you and the other applicants are told the role is filled.

The exact address is released to that person only.

9

Messaging and job details

All communication happens through protected ReadyHands messaging, so neither side needs to share personal contact details. Use it to confirm access, parking or anything else before the work starts.

10

Work is completed

When the work is done, it is marked complete and payment is released to the worker through ReadyHands at the agreed amount.

You can follow the payment status at every stage from your account.

11

Reviews

After the work, both sides can review each other. Your reviews as a hirer help you attract better applicants next time.

Good to know

Cancellations

You can cancel work you have posted before someone is accepted at no cost.

Cancellation terms after a worker has been accepted: TBC — to be confirmed.

Payment terms

Pay is agreed up front when you post the work, so there are no surprises for either side.

Refunds

When a refund applies and how it is issued: TBC — to be confirmed.

Temporary work rules

Temporary work covers several shifts, days or weeks with a defined end date.

The first paid shift uses First-Shift Confirmation. After that shift both you and the worker are asked whether to continue. If either side says no, the completed shift is still paid and the remaining shifts are reopened.

Temporary work does not use the 14-Day Replacement Cover.

First-Shift Confirmation

The first temporary shift is a normal, fully paid shift — not an unpaid trial.

Once it is completed, both sides simply confirm whether the arrangement continues.

14-Day Replacement Cover

Part-time and full-time hires are ongoing jobs from day one.

If the hire does not continue during the first 14 days, you may use ReadyHands' replacement process.

Replacement limits and conditions: TBC — to be confirmed.

Disputes

If something goes wrong, you can raise it through ReadyHands and we review the details from both sides.

Full dispute process and timescales: TBC — to be confirmed.

Worker no-shows

If a worker does not arrive, report it from the job so the work can be reopened quickly.

No-show consequences and any fee treatment: TBC — to be confirmed.

Poster responsibilities

Describe the work honestly, including anything physical, unusual or requiring a certificate.

Provide a safe place to work, be there or reachable at the agreed time, and pay the agreed amount.

Worker responsibilities

Only apply for work they can genuinely do and arrive at the agreed time.

Hold any qualification they claim, and communicate early if anything changes.

Important ReadyHands terms

Your exact address is only shared with the person you accept.

Messaging stays inside ReadyHands so there is a record of what was agreed.

Full terms and conditions: TBC — to be confirmed.
